Broken Neck Blues
The opening sequence to a film noir produced and shot in London with a view to later filming the whole film.
I started working as a freelancer at twenty two after finishing my undergraduate degree (Film Studies BA - Falmouth University). Working as everything from runner to cameraperson, sound engineer, AD and Director my freelance work took me around the country working on a variety of projects from documentaries to drama, web-series and promotional videos.
I moved to London to study an MA in Film Making (Kingston Upon Thames University) graduating with a Commendation, specialising in Screenwriting and Cinematography/Directing. I then worked for a small London based studio working with actors to produce showreels. Editing already existing works and writing, filming and editing scenes to provide a final three minute product the actor could then use to promote themselves. I started working as a freelance script consultant, mostly for Undergrads and Postgrads, helping with idea development, formatting, academic reasoning and development from script to screen.
Returning to Plymouth to become the Head of Film for Skymind Studios CiC leading a pool of freelancers to produce the content required, working for clients like Plymouth Argyle Football Club, Pro Direct Sport and getting heavily involved with the local music scene. I also continue to work with students, both local and international, to help improve their screenwriting and visualisation skills. Developing their ideas into shootable projects and providing a troubleshooter should any issues arise during the production process.

Currently working with some very talented film makers on a film project promoting the history and culture of Cornwall, funded by the Cornish film festival and board of culture. Shooting through the summer with a release and screening at Falmouth Poly Cinema in the autumn the film looks at the slow destruction of Cornish language and culture as the county is integrated and absorbed into England. Shooting on location around the county, it’s shaping up to be an exciting project!
